Major Household Goods Manufacturer Bets on Consumer Spending Bounce Back

The upswing that is now taking place after a rather deep and dark global recession has lead retailers to have some positive thoughts about the state of affairs in the consumer products field, but manufacturers have been historically more reticent to react quickly to changes. It comes as a surprise then that Georgia Pacific LLC will be making major steps forward with its premium priced consumer toilet paper to provide more households with the option to abstain from cheaper brands. The time is right, Georgia Pacific leadership has told the media, for the company to step up production of the more luxurious lines because consumers are back in control of their money and want to spend on better products instead of having to opt for bottom dollar household goods. Since toilet paper is a basic staple across the world, it the company believes it will be prudent to invest half a billion dollars into upgrading its equipment and the software that runs the production plants. The company already produces Quilted Northern toilet paper, Dixie plastic cups and plats, plus Brawny paper towels and this expansion should help them see a wider chunk of the consumer market coming their way, say analysts.

Since consumers are showing such confidence in the economy, Georgia Pacific views this investment in their machinery as a way to show confidence right back to consumers and provide them with the premium goods they have come to expect. Shoppers now regularly go for the basics, but by expanding their choices, Georgia Pacific believes the diversified lines will lead to better lives fro both sides of the cash register.
